Photos taken (
)Worked in meters Y-Z/13-15 leveling the area to about 130 cm. b.d. The stones along the eastern edge of Z/14 were defined and removed; it was discovered that they sat within the dark brown soil with carbon and plaster. This work produced 2-1/2 boxes of pottery and bone, a few small fragments of bronze, and 1/2 cassetta of plaster and tile-mostly plaster, some w/ reed impressions. A fragment of pithos rim was included with the pottery.
The area in Z/16, which had been left uneven, was picked out, 140-150 cm. b.d. There was some yellowish brown soil on the surface but underneath the dark brown soil with carbon and plaster appeared. There were numerous large pieces of carbon in this meter. 2 latte boxes of pottery and bone fragments, a few small fragments of bronze, and 1/4 cassetta of tile and plaster.
