Description Locus 7 is the soil in which a deposition of large pieces of tile were found. The soil appeared very orange, due largely to the presence of the tiles, while at the same time remaining mottled, like the soil of Locus 6. There were large pieces of plaster and carbon inclusions in the soil. Due to the density of the tiles, their proximity to the workshop, and the elevation at which they had been found, it has been hypothesized that these tiles may have comprised part of an orientalizing period drainage ditch designed to redirect water from the residence and tripartite building away from the floor of the workshop.
