Description Locus 13, like Loci 10&12, was a sounding trench excavated in order to determine if there was any iron-age activity in the Tesoro area. The trench was a 1x2m trench along the southern baulk wall, near the middle of the trench, where the tile deposition of Locus 7 formerly lay. As the soil of Locus 9 was slightly different from the soil of Locus 8, it was decided to open a sounding trench here. The soil of Locus 13 was slightly redder than that of Loci 10&12, although like these other two sounding trenches, it produced little material and galestra was reached shortly after opening this locus.
