Condition Surfaces are pitted, worn, and encrusted. Large inclusions are visible throughout the fabric. The piece is comprised of four fragments rejoined during conservation. There is a piece of the frieze plaque missing where the four pieces join.
Fabric Description Terracotta
Munsell Color 10YR 7/2 Light Gray, 10YR 6/8 Light Red
Description Frieze plaque fragment preserves five strigils, six dentils, a nail hole, and the very top of a figure from the scene. The top edge and back face are finished. The nail hole does not fully perforate the frieze plaque. The raised portion of the frieze plaque is not yet identifiable to a particular scene.
