Description Locus 13 was located in the eastern extension of the trench, directly below the dark grayish-blue soil of Locus 12. Locus 13 consisted of a yellowish-brown colored soil with occassional streaks or patches of a grayer soil that were similar in color to the soil of Locus 12. The soil of Locus 13, while somewhat claylike, was much looser and sandier than that of Locus 12 and this locus also contained some small rocks. Very little archaeological material, including terracotta roofing tile and pottery, was recovered from this locus but all of the material found was ancient in date, suggesting that this locus is a contextually secure deposit.
