Comments (Primarily temporal or functional interpretations)	British Colonial Period (1763-1783) irrigation system associated with the greater canal system of the New Smyrna Colony. Possibly linkage to Turnbull Colony but no direct only size, depth, and construction indicate canals were built in late 18th to early 19th centuries. Historic canal CANALS WERE CONSTRUCTED BETWEEN 1773 AND 1775. CANALS WERE ORIGINALLY USED FOR AGRICULTURAL IRRIGATION. LATER THESE CANALS WERE USED BY HOMESTEADERS AS DRAINAGE CANAL. THEY ARE STILL BEING USED. Napier 1 was previously interpreted as a remnant of the larger Turnbull Canal System, an irrigation system that historically traversed the New Smyrna Settlement and Thomas Napier land grand during the period of British colonization (1763-1783)....
