Title | Horserace Frieze Plaque, Fragment |
Description | This piece preserves part of the right edge, guilloche, one stud, and much of the first horse and rider. The lower corner is broken off and a diagonal break at the left side has removed the hindquarters of the horse and most of the jockey's body. The horse's head, neck with flowing mane, and strongly modelled forequarters can be seen as well as the jockey's leg, gripping the horse's side, and his farther foot below the horse's body. |
