Field Description Massive, crumbly moist, dark brown [7.5YR4/4] silty clay with yellow blobs (taranakite?), white fleck and black spots (apatite). Quite diagenetic but doesn’t look like hearth but rather dismantled hearth material.
THIN SECTION Observations Finely bioturbated but compressed. Could be trampled. Burnt components and charcoal dispersed throughout. Large, mm size displacive blob phosphate.
