Condition | Almost entire, restored from eight sherds, all from CA 28 Grid NN 6 (A) except for a single-rim sherd preserving part of rosette and semicircle design, and definite join with dish. Edge of rim and resting surface of base very slightly worn. |
Description | Small dish with broad, flat rim extending out horizontally from the actual bowl of dish; this depression is round, like the rim, shallow, and very regular in contour. Base is small, round, a smoothed, raised, circular ridge forming very shallow depression. Decoration of exterior: the depression of base preserves, besides some slight circular grooves from its molding, two small, intersecting, tear-shaped gouges. The everted rim has only other decoration, a regular, molded, flattened ridge 0.007 m from edge of rim, with design of semicircles with their ends touching the outer ridge of rim alternate with six rosettes, which each consist of six round petals and central dot. Surface is polished but not painted or glossy. |
Fabric Description | Fine-textured clay fired dull orange-tan but discolored black from fire; on part of Agger 4 sherd as well as some of the others. |
