Description Fragment, possibly of a rim, preserving the front half of the body of a lying animal, possibly a dog. The animal is in a crouching or lying position with his head facing forward and resting on his forelegs. Modeling in the head includes impressions around the projecting eyes and holes for the ears which have broken off. There are curved grooves to differentiate the head from the body and deeper horizontal grooves to distinguish the forelegs. The top of the fragment, extending from the head of the animal to the middle of his back, is nearly flat.
Fabric Description Impasto, fired dark brown on the exterior and orange on the interior.
