Description | Locus 9, the Francesca Column, is the northernmost column in Trench 65, located between the Michael and Chet Columns. It is composed of sandstone drums measuring approximately 0.48 m in height and 1.12 m in diameter. Based on the alternating red-yellow color scheme of the inner colonnade, the Francesca Column would have been stuccoed red in antiquity; however, no in situ remains of this plaster coat were discovered. |
