Descriptive Attribute | Value(s) |
---|---|
Bottom (m) | Bottom elevation: Unknown. |
Top (m) | Top elevation: 898.576 m at northwest. |
Definition | North wall. |
Description | This wall measures 0.37 m-x-4.20 m and was excavated to a depth of 0.72 m. Only the top two courses of this wall have been excavated, and these are constructed of diagonally-dressed limestone blocks (see plan). The top course consists of what appear to be re-used sarcophagus blocks (0.36-x-1.20 m), which have 0.04 m holes in the top. The northern face is roughly-dressed in a concave fashion. The purpose of this wall is as yet unknown. The North wall varies in the construction techniques used in the earlier construction stages. For this reason, another stage has been added, but too little of the wall has been excavated to determine how it should, with certainty, be phased. |
