Description | Avkat Castle Hill, bounded to north by rampart and ditch (F0302). Fieldwalked in August 2007. Remote sensing in August and September 2007, some kinetic survey by Steve Wilkes, August 2007. Some additional material collected and/or seen during 2007 season, including eastern terra sigillata and light blue glzed material. Rumors of mosaic tesserae apparently confusion with medieval glazed material. Large quantities of roof tiles (almost entirely tegulae) and some kiln wasters suggesting on-site tile production. |
