Description | Fragement of bucchero plate or other shallow vessel preserving part of rim and part of "bowl" area with a transitional ridge in between on both the interior and the exterior. Interior surface of rim preserves molded and stamped decoration: above, traces of a grazing stag, including his head with antlers and one front foot, and in front of him, a fantastic winged animal having four legs and a long tail curling twice up over his back; below these, two convex molded ridges (one very thin). One foot of winged animal rests on upper thin ridge. Below ridges, two stamped wheel-like motifs. |
