Condition Worn; surface dull. Some yellowish gray mud incrustation remains after cleaning.
Description This fragment has a plain edge whose corners are slightly bevelled, not curved. The molded decoration in low relief consists of palmettes alternating with smooth areas. Note that the concave areas on the back correspond to the raised areas of decoration: the clay was pressed into a mold and the piece resembles repousse. The fragment may be from either a bowl or a handle.
Fabric Description Bucchero. Fine grained; gray core between dark gray surface layers.
