Definition The Floor Pavement (fragmented)
Location These cover approximately one half of the trench in the south. At a mid point in the trench or at about 3 m from the south balk, they extend across the trench from the Locus 5 south west wall to the Byzantine wall, Locus 7.
Description These pavers alternate between stretchers and headers. They are neatly fitted and are comprised of limestone and sandstone ashlars. Many of the limestone ashlars show signs of exfoliation and weathering.
Size The floor pavers measure north south 6.20 m-x-2.44 m at the widest point in the north which includes their measurement up to the Locus 8 threshold which they abut. At the south end of the trench measuring 1.66m, they extend under the balk.
