Description | Foundation course underneath the combined Pierre Anta/Loa Engaged Column (and their bases), approximately 4.20 m long-by-1.35 m wide. Extending north south, only the tops of the small sandstone blocks of this leveling course are visible; they are well-cut and diagonally dressed, however. The stylobate of the interior colonnade (Locus 73), though set lower than this foundation course, may nevertheless be part of a unified feature of stylobate and plinth supporting the Phase I interior columns and antae. |
