Description | This locus is one of seven loci (2, 3, 4, 27, 23, 25, 28) which together comprise the eastern wall of the East Corridor Wall. It extends to the southern end (rear) of the Great Temple. The wall is 10 courses high and extends from third doorway in the east Colonnade wall to the southern (back) wall of the Upper Temenos. Finely dressed limestone ashlars compose this side of the wall. Preservation of the southernmost, upper stones, is poor. The courses of the wall consist of alternating headers and stretchers. The average size of the headers is 0.36 m-by-0.33 m, and the average size of the stretchers is 1.38 m-by-0.45 m. The largest ashlar in the wall, which measures 1.89 m-by-0.33 m, is included in this portion of the wall. |
