Description The soil is a 7.5 YR 5/4 (Brown). This is the bedding underneath the orchestra pavement, exposed where there is damage to the limestone flags. Like much of the floor bedding in the temple, it consists of sandstone cobbles set in mud mortar. The bedding was not excavated this season; in areas where pavers still seal it the bedding should be removed in future seasons in order to recover material remains for dating.
