Description |
Locus 3 is the locus that encompasses the soil directly above the upper portion of the terracotta drain that extends out to the north from the southern flank of the Archaic structure wall. Locus 3 is very shallow in the north, measuring approximately 2 centimeters and lower in the south, measuring approximately 10 centimeters. This difference in measurements is because of the presence of the upper portion of the drain fragments in the north. Locus 3 has a downward slope from the north to the south. Locus 3 is considered to be non-contextual because of previous excavation and all materials found within would have been placed there organically through natural erosion. Locus 3 is synonymous with Locus 4 and Locus 5.
