Condition Single sherd; broken on all four sides, chipped and cracking.
Description Sherd preserves top and part of side edges of handle area of very large krater-type vessel: wall thickens at bottom for possibly shoulder; shape is molded with flat interior raised continuous ridge around rim, with raised low knob on top of rim at corner where rim curves downward; preserves molded decoration on front of surface: large flying bird, possibly dove, or bird of prey: rounded head and pointed beak are thrust out and to the right from thick, rounded body with heavy, broad tail (partially broken), thrust forward from junction of body and tail are claws or talons visible as thick, sharply curved crescent; wings are stretched out behind body (to left), almost horizontal across the top, and slightly curving below - general shape is almost rectangular, only detail visible is set of two parallel horizontal grooves on wings.
Fabric Description Terracotta, light orange, similar to Murlo architectural terracotta.
