Condition | Two joined fragments plus ten associated fragments. All surfaces heavily worn, pitted and encrusted. Surfaces irregular and mottled in color due to burning and vitrification. |
Description | A large, flat fragment of terracotta preserving one irregular, unfinished surface, and one finished surface, much of which is blackened, bubbly, and porous due to vitrification, with a lump of adhered slag in one corner. All associated fragments either bear evidence of vitrification, in the form of blackened and porous surfaces, on at least on side, or are vitrified all the way through. The vitrified surface is magnetic, indicating the occurrence of metalworking activities |
