Condition | Ivory piece burnt and broken at narrow end; bronze shaft essentially whole, corroded and encrusted with iron; silver cap tarnished. |
Description | Small, ivory plate with rounded end tapering to broken edge, possibly originally tear-shaped, with flat top and bottom edges; almost entire rounded section is covered on top by head of a bronze nail capped with silver, which pierces fragment. Nail is short, with pointed tip, and rounded shaft with round domed head. |
