Field Description Very complex sample. Hard to compact, massive, clay silt with abundant Manganese stains that pre-date, pinkish chalky phosphate coats (variscite??) and irregular vein fillings. Dark brown, with charcoal, opal seed coats and more clayey. Seems to surround redder Mn-rich zone and could be trampled hearth.

THIN SECTION Observations Abundant seed coats. Manganese staining throughout. Locally burrowed but some in tact remains. Not much silt and matrix generally clayey but occluded.
