Field Description Collected block consisting of 13 cm immediately below Hay-00-359. Sediment is dark brown (7.5YR 4/4) silt with extensive intercalations and veins of calcium carbonate, although these seem denser in the upper 8-10 cm of the sample. Bottom 3-5 cm seem to contain less well developed white calcium carbonate veins, but a fairly thick (ca. 3mm) band of light to dark gray friable material extends for several cm. Red TR balls are present but they seem to be larger (?2mm) and less common than in overlying sediment. There appear to be occasional very small bone fragments but no charcoal is visible. This sample comes from near the base of layer E and is ?20cm above the E to F transition zone.
