Description Locus 3 is a brownish clay layer, which unlike locus one and two, has a higher concentration of archaeological remains. The presence of medieval pottery unfortunately makes any date for this level negligible. Matrix includes heavy root action and sparadic concentrations of stone which are clearly natural/unintentional. (for the purpose of data entry locus 3 has been assigned locus 8 in the computer)
