Description | Eastern Sigillata A ware. Ref: Hayes 1997:15 fig. 3 No. 1. Mirroring metalware, this black gloss bowl fragment represents the final phase of Eastern Sigillata A in CE first century . Palmette impressed over rouletted border on surface of bowl (see ibid:57). Exterior base and foot are not impressed, but glossed. Simple foot profile: projecting molding at base. |
