Description | Well-built stylobate of limestone and sandstone slabs, about 1 m wide and .17 m high, running n-s at the west edge of the trench, beginning under the last column of the west row of the East Colonnade and ending at the northernmost edge of the Lower Temenos. About eight meters of this stylobate are preserved in Trench 52. If a southern portion of the stylobate existed in antiquity, it would have articulated and been coeval with the plinth of the east engaged column and the string course of the exedra. |
