Fabric Description | Terracotta |
Description | Fragment of a free standing spouted funnel preserves portion of the lower tube as it flares out to a high, rounded base. Approximately one third of the base is preserved, along with portion of the broad, flat resting surface. The interior of the base is hollow and unfinished, and regular ridges on the interior of the tube indicates it was assembled with coils, then smoothed on the exterior. The lower part of the tube is decorated with what may be a vegetal pattern in white slip over red ground, then a horizontal band with pendant triangles. Near the bottom edge are two parallel horizontal bands in white. The remainder of the decoration is unclear. |
