Description |
Locus 6 is the 1 meter by 4 meter northern extension of T101. This extension is comprised of the stone foundations of the southern extent of the Archaic phase wall. This locus was opened in order to increase visibility for the terracotta piping placed into a cut in the wall as detailed in Locus 7. The soil of Locus 6 is a light yellowish brown and is comprised of small roots extending into the locus from the trees present just to the north of the baulk and many medium to large stones which comprise the architectural framework to the Archaic phase wall. Locus 6 is fairly even with just the slightest slope from the west to the east given the natural slope of the terrain. Little materials were present within this locus and the majority came from the detailing that was done surrounding the rocks versus the detailing done directly on top of the rocks and most likely are products of erosional activity. Locus 6 is directly north of Loci 3, 4, and 5. |
