Condition | Fragment has two preserved faces, two preserved edges, and two break edges transversely through the shaft. Oxidized and corroded. |
Description | A fragment of bronze which curves in profile and also bends back upon itself almost one-hundred-and-eighty degrees. In section, the longer portion of the shaft is like a square with rounded edges and tapers gradually from the break end towards the bend. The shorter, bent shaft is both thinner and a wide rectangle in section. In profile, the longer portion of the shaft gently arcs to a totally rounded curve into the bent section. The bent section flares outward away from the point of carination to make an almost triangular shape before the object is broken through the shaft. |
