Description | Irregular shaped fragment of what may be the apex of an akroterion. The "apex" preserves two converging finished edges. The right edge still preserves a projecting "knob." A scar remains for the corresponding one on the the left. A small round hole pierces the fragment directly below the apex. One surface is decorated with incised design; the reverse is plain. The design consists of a diamond pattern enclosing the central hole. Below the hole a chevron pattern repeats the motif. Below the diamond two curved parallel lines enclosing diagonal slashes are to the right. Below these is a curved finished edge. The left side is too badly damaged to determine the design though one similar to the right is most likely. |
