Description Small sherd from bucchero vessel preserves molded decoration in a recessed horizontal band; at top and bottom, a thin horizontal ridge, with figures set between the two: on left edge, thin animal leg, running down from left to right - ridged and bent on back and bottom - behind leg, a long, thin ridge extending horizontally and turning down at right angle to touch bottom ridge - apparently a long tail; on right side is a deer or antelope-like animal with long tubular body and elongated trapezoidal head facing left - running horizontally to right and curving down toward back - on top of this curve are two ridges, and below it is a thin straight diagonal line, also apparently to indicate antlers; legs of animal are thin and form two triangles, the shorter one for front feet and longer one for hind legs; tail is broken off.
