Fabric Description | Terracotta |
Description | Fragment of the base of a spouted funnel preserves portion of the flat resting edge that juts out sharply before tapering in to the interior of the base. The interior is not highly finished. The exterior rounds out gently and begins to decrease in diameter as it approaches the upper break edge. Approximately 0.028 m above the bottom edge is a band of white slip 0.013 m in avg. pres. thickness. Approximately 0.035 m above this band is another, slightly thicker one. Above that are portions of what appear to be a tongue pattern in the same white slip. The entire ground is dusky red. |
