Description This foot may have been part of a seated statue similar to 19660297. The foot is shown covered with a painted shoe, whose toe turns up in a point. On the upper side of the shoe is a ridge, running from the ankle to the tip of the toe; the surfaces on both sides of this ridge are smooth, and almost flat until they curve sharply under at the sides. The inside edge (right) of the foot is nearly straight until very close to the toe; the outside (left) edge curves out to about two-thirds of the way from ankle to toe, and then into the toe. The curved surface along the outside edge meets the upper and lower surfaces at a sharp angle. The top surface of the foot curves sharply up at the ankle, to the point where the piece is broken off. The bottom surface is rough and broken, except for the third nearest the toe, which is smooth and curves up.
Fabric Description Coarse clay with bits of stone and mica fired light orange on the exterior. Traces of red paint.
