Condition Broken from body where wrist and heel of hand attached. Surface worn.
Description The hand is clasped as if it were intended to hold a thick staff. The individual fingers are seperated by grooves but otherwise ill-defined. There are distinct angles at the joints of the hand and the tips of the fingers have been elongated. The thumb, now missing, rested on the index finger. The piece was formed by hand; not molded.
Fabric Description Coarse clay with numerous small stones and mica; fired reddish- orange on exterior, black on interior. Traces of dark paint over wrist and back of hand.
