Description | On June 25, 2007, while troweling and sifting through the first pickpass, a yellowish soil was noticed in the northeast corner of the trench. On that same day, after a second pickpass through the northern side of the trench, brownish-yellowish or yellowish moist soil was seen. The yellowish claylike soil was not found anywhere else -it was only found in the Northern part of the trench. It was declared Locus 3 on June 27, 2007. This Locus was far different from Locus 2 in the Southern half of the trench. Locus 3 was sterile and though it had rocks, they were not tightly packed together like the rocks in Locus 2. Locus 3 rocks were large and their placement appeared to be decided by nature. |
