Description | High-density scatter of Classical-Medieval pottery as well as architectural fragments. Seven discovery units include mainly architectural material (tiles, stone blocks) and pottery within the two fields comprising the LOCA. The units were mapped and a total count of all the material within each unit took place. A ChronoType collection within each unit was also completed. The field to the West (vineyard) is covered by DUs 2228, 2229, 2230, 2231. DU 2209 is a path to the East of the large field. Geophysical work was done in 2002. Using magnetometry and to a lesser extent resistivity, the outlines of two large buildings were revealed in the subsurface. On the lower, flattish part of the eastern field, a large building with a long axis on the order of 30 meters, with internal rooms, is apparent. Further upslope in the same field, a smaller building with a different orientation can be discerned. Many cut blocks; tiles and blocks with mortar adhering; part of a column; terra cotta architectural decoration. Located in two fields South of the main Examilia-Kenchreai Road, in the flat area directly to the North of Rachi Boska. At the time of survey (2000), newly plowed fields, and field to the West was newly planted with vines. The field adjacent to this to the East was separated by a 3-meter wide path and was currently not planted. In 2001-2002, the eastern field was planted with a new olive grove.
