Description | A fragment of fine impasto preserving interior incised decoration. There are two elements of incision on the decorated interior, each arcing lines, but of different directions and thicknesses. The element with thicker incision preserves portions of four arcing incisions, each about 0.00303m in width. These incisions arc between two roughly perpendicular break edges. The element of thinner incision preserves portions of two arcing incisions, each about 0.00075m in width. They arc between two parallel break edges, one shared with the element of thicker incision. The exterior face is finished smoothly. On the exterior, opposite the undecorated area below the thin incisions on the interior face, between three break edges is a raised element (max. pres. thickness), preserved to a height of approximately 0.00713m. It is similar to the ways in which fine impasto vessel fragments of a similar extremely gently sloping profile widen before carinating into a central depression. |
