| Field Description | Sample from 30-40 cm below surface o9f deep sounding, 10-20 cm below base of previous sample. Very silty sediment, well consolidated. Charcoal and calcium carbonate flecks are visible throughout. TR balls are also visible and are fairly common. Sediment light gray in color (7.5YR 6/2, pinkish gray). TR balls seem larger and more common towards the top of the sample, giving sediment a more reddish hue. |
