Description | A roughly semi-circular sawn goat horn core fragment. The goat horn core was sawn transversely to its fabric on two parallel planes. The sawn edges are curved and the shape of the fragment is convex. the interior and the exterior are both natural, preserved faces. The curved sawn edges, measuring 0.035m each in circumference, terminate in broken edges which span the entire width of the fragment. The interior face has a natural protrusion in the goat horn core spanning the width of the fragment with a maximum height of 0.00308m and thickness of 0.00151m. Originally misidentified as antler; record corrected by S. Kansa in 2022. |
