Condition | All surfaces are heavily worn, pitted, scratched, and encrusted. The rounded surface of the finial is significantly more worn and irregular than the rest. |
Description | A fragment of an impasto finial of truncated conical shape has an upper break surface at a slight diagonal. From the break surface the finial increases in diameter to an incised line. Below the line is a rib, offset by another incised line below it. The fragment continues to increase in diameter and rounds out to another rib. An incised line below this rib separates it from a very worn, now convex point of attachment to a vessel. |
