Description Fragment of topmost part of a ridge pole tile with part of a "cut-out" akroterion attached to its surface. The akroterion has two flat and smooth sides, with a curving outline at the base where they rise from the tile. It preserves two flat smooth edges. One runs horizontally for about 0.090 m forming the flat top of a low ridge then bends upwards to form the edge of a rising member which is broken or chipped at top. Its edge at the opposite side is broken or chipped at one point, but preserves a small portion which starts out directly from the tile. Due to its bad preservation, the shape of this member is unclear. At the point where the ridge is broken, its top edge curves upwards, indicating another rising member.
Fabric Description Murlo Terracotta fired reddish brown on surface. Traces of red slip on the surface of both the tile and the akroterion
