Description This is a large unit from Kopal offsite area, characterised by having large chunks of cattle bone, some dog, few sheep/goat, and like other Kopal units, some fragments of disarticulated human bone mixed in. The big pieces of large cattle are: atlas, radius (and other radius bits but MNi of 1), pelvis, femur, tibia, calcaneum and naviculo-cuboid. There are also some very large 07 size rib, vertebra and skull fragments which almost certainly come from cattle. Therefore, all parts of the skeleton are generally represented for these larger-than-average animals. One cattle metatarsal comes from a much smaller sized animal. This piece (F69) has interesting wear/abrasion on the distal condyles exposing the spongy bone inside, while the shaft is in fair condition. This differential surface condition may be from some kind of use of the distal end, or maybe from burial/installation of the bone all except the distal condyles, which might lead to the same effect.
