Description Fill and debris of fine, light brown, sandy soil (Munsell 7.5YR 6/4) tipped approximately 15o from south to north. Identified to the east along the north face of the Stylobate. This locus was created because of a change in soil consistency (in what was formerly Locus 2). Soil was richer in color and finer in consistency. Compared to Locus 7, there was very little material culture found here. Locus 6 was little excavated, because almost immediately after the locus was identified, a Department of Antiquities restorer began to carry out repairs to the Stylobate. This work continued through the end of the season. It is assumed that, despite the initial difference in soil consistency, excavation of this locus in the future will not vary substantially from what was recovered to its west in Locus 7. From this locus, one tesserae container was recovered and two containers for pottery, plaster, tile and metal. None of these artifacts was remarkable.
