Around the point of consolidation on the unfinished side is a scrape from modern tool running the full length of the artifact and max. pres. width of 0.037m. Adhered slag is chipped in three places from excavation. |
Description | A fragment of terra cotta pan tile with slag adhered to its finished face along one ancient break edge. The fragment is very slightly convex on the finished face and therefore very slightly concave on the unfinished face. The slag adhered to the edge of the finished face preserves signs of heat and burning including concave air bubbles and convex bulbs. |
