Condition Preserves rim, but broken on other sides. Painted decoration almost completely preserved except for some of the interior glaze near the lip.
Description Piece preserves the rim, neck, and the beginning of the curve to the shoulder of a vase. The interior of the vase done in a black glaze. The exterior decoration is done in black on a buff ground and consists of: 1) a band of small black dots around the lip, 2) below this, a band consisting of two horizontal black bands approximately 0.002 m wide each joined at intervals by thicker (0.005 m) vertical black squares. 3) Below this is another band of small black dots, and 4) on the bottom of the lip and the beginning of the curve to the shoulder is a band of solid black glaze (or perhaps the beginning of a body completely done in black glaze).
