Description | This fragment has a roughly circular outline, with a "stem" extending the curve of the circle to one side. On the front of the flattened circular area, a roughly oval lump of clay, approximately 0.021 m long, was shaped to form a face with round eyes, nostrils and mouth drawn with incised lines. Above the smooth forehead-headdress band there is a semi-circular groove. A groove along the center gives the "stem" two ridges. On the back of the fragment, the circular area is smooth except for a broken strip beginning slightly above center and continuing down the back of the circular area and the "stem". |
Fabric Description | Bucchero. Fine grained brownish gray below the black surface; tiny bits of mica throughout. |
