Field Description Yellowish fairly soft ash with dark brown root casts/insect burrows visible along base of sample. Ash in sample also appeared to be resting on apatitic sediment.
Additional Notes insect burrowing in and around hearth/ash deposits was responsible for transformation of charcoal layers into dark brown, patches with apatitic veins?
