Condition | Fragment is worn and encrusted. Two finished faces and two finished edges. Broken transversely through the handle on diagonals. Consolidated from two pieces. |
Description | A fragment of bifurcated fine impasto handle. The exterior face arcs convexly and preserves two coils running parallel to create a deep bifurcation between them. The coils comprising the bifurcations are 0.004m and 0.003m in width. One outside edge is completely smoothed, while the opposite outside edge is beveled for 0.002m of its thickness and indented for 0.003m of the thickness. The interior edge of that same coil also appears to have been beveled. The interior face is less deeply bifurcated. |
